Christian Educ/Form in Church
This course will introduce the tensions and dimensions of historical theological and pedagogical foundations of Christian Formation. Time will be given to discussing leadership concerns as pastors of Christian Formation. Students will be encouraged to engage the material realizing other courses will pursue the topics in more detail. This course will facilitate a broad awareness of Christian formation in the Church.

Christian Ethics
Course examines moral codes, divine commandments and legal proscriptions that influence the development of Christianity, and how the historical expressions of these systems in various communions have led to competing moral theories in Christian thought.
Christian History 2
As a continuation of HSTY 5210 Christian History II traces the expansion of the church from Europe into the Americas Africa and Asia as well as the division of the church into myriad denominational traditions. Attention is given to the theological political and economic contexts that attended this expansion and division and to the question of unity in diversity.
Christian Initiation
This course will help students understand the sacraments of Christian Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist - guide a person into the life of Christ in the communion of the Church. The current Catholic rites of initiation are examined in their theological, historical, canonical, and practical aspects. In particular, the Rite of Christian Iniation of Adults (RCIA) is studied in detail. Special attention is given to the patristic documents which constitute the foundation of the revised rites. The Eucharist is explored briefly as the sacrament which concludes Christian initiation.
Christian Leadership and Human Science
Part of a dynamic ministry environment is a competent leader who builds teamwork, encourages others in leadership, can process challenging situations and offer support. This course will engage helpful skills from the social and human sciences and assist pastoral leaders in building effective and productive teams.
