McCormick Theological Seminary
McCormick is a theological center for the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It also welcomes many students from outside this denomination. Focusing its resources on education for the ministry, it emphasizes both preprofessional (M.T.S. and M.Div.) and professional (DMin) studies. Its programs in Hispanic ministries, African American ministries, and urban ministry, its dual-competency programs in social work and other fields, and its emphasis on internationalization add to its other offerings. Students are encouraged to plan, with advice, their own courses of study.
McCormick Theological Seminary, Lutheran School of Theology, Catholic Theological Union, and Chicago Theological Seminary (CTU, CTS, LSTC and MTS). These four schools are located in close proximity to one another in the Hyde Park area of Chicago near the University of Chicago. They can be reached by car via the Chicago metropolitan expressway system from Lake Shore Drive (south) or the Dan Ryan Expressway (I-90/94), and by public transportation on the CTA Red Line, the elevated train or the Illinois Central to the respective 55th Street stations and connecting buses.
